Hi World, I have an Apple HD20 that is dead and I am trying to identify the problem. (This is the original 20 Mbyte drive that plugged into the floppy port.) If I run "HD 20 Test", the Apple supplied diagnostic, I get the following report: 1/3 18:48 StartUp... 1/3 18:49 Unit did not pass selftest; Stat5: 00037DE0 1/3 18:49 Failed[7] xfers = 0 soft = 0 hard = 0 comm = 0 Can anyone out there interperate the contents of Stat5: for me? Or, better yet, can anyone out there tell me what registers are to be found in the HD20 and what the various fields and bits they contain mean? BTW: The unit fails with the above message with both of the HD20 controller boards I have available to me. This would lead me to believe that the Rodime 552 is the problem. Finally, I know that typing CMD-D to Apple's "HD 20 Test" gets me to the comprehensive test screen, but how does one get to the comprehensive screens in Apple's "Apple Hard Disk Test" Version 1.0? Inquiring minds want to know!!! Thanks in advance...
