Greetings netters; This is a followup to my last message about 'HD disk eject motor burn out' or something like that. Sorry for the whinning, but hey, I'm human! Does anyone know if the disk eject motor on the FDHD is a standard motor I could pick up from an electronics shop? Most authorized dealers tell me that they wouldn't bother with the motor, but they would do a swap for $207CDN plus $50 to $90 /hr in labor. For that price, I can buy a brand new external. Hence, I plan to 'do it myself'. Any suggestions or information appreciated. Please e-mail me. I can post results to the net (if anyone asks).
