[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Does a Quantum Pro105 draw too much power on IIsi? LPS?

jdsb@coachk.egr.duke.edu (John D. S. Babcock) (01/13/91)

Ok, I'm confused. I just got my IIsi. I have a Quantum Pro 105
hard drive from my SE. It will fit in the IIsi (albet too high to allow
for an internal card). It will even work there. However, am I asking for
trouble? Does it draw too much power? If I sell it and get a Quantum
LPS 105 MB will it draw too much power? Is the LPS any less greedy?
I recall reading that the LC and classic could not drive some of the hard
drives on the market and that new models were forth comming. However, when
I read it I dismissed it because either they said the IIsi was OK or I did
not anticipate mounting the drive internally at that time. I cannot remember
which and I cannot find the article in six months of MacUser, MacWeek, or the
few issues of MacWorld I have.
If you know the article, please refer me to it. If you KNOW what the
power requirements of the IIsi are, please let me know. Please do not send
"I think", "I heard", or rumors. I am confused enough.
Please email response if possible. I also read news. If you want the
answer, email. Thanks!!
