Has anyone had any experience in powering a Macintosh from a 120 volt 60 hertz square wave inverter? I'd like to purchase an inverter so I can power my Mac IIcx when no 120 AC power is available. I'm concerned though, what the square wave output of the inverter might do to the Mac power supply. I've talked to a local dealer, who says they don't answer technical questions unless you buy a hardware service contract. Apple Costumer Assistance Center says they don't recommend running a Mac off of a "generator" but said it should work if the voltage and frequency are correct, they didn't know what effect square wave output from an inverter would have. --GaryM -- Gary Morris Internet: lescsse!gamorris@menudo.uh.edu Lockheed, Houston, Texas UUCP: lobster!lescsse!gamorris Space Station Freedom Internet: gmorris@nasamail.nasa.gov N5QWC/W5RRR Phone: +1 713 283 5195
