Hello... I have a question. I am wondering what would be the best Mac to get given the following needs for it.: o A Good Scanner and scanning software o A Good CAD program (for landscaping) o The ability to run a sophisticated drawing program. etc. Now, I am not Mac-ignorant... I have been following them for quite sometime. However, I have never actually been shopping for a Mac for a specific purpose (I have just gotten whatever I could afford in the past... and this one is not for me... I am just trying to make sure this person gets the right computer). My inclination would be to get the IIci because a) it doesn't cost an arm and a leg (maybe just an arm), b) because it has an FPU which drawing and CAD programs need, c) it can do color which, although not totally necessary, would be nice, d) it has 3 NuBus slots so that a scanner and whatever other peripherals are needed can be easily added, and e) it is fast enough that the complicated stuff such complex programs as CAD and good drawing/rendering do will not be as slow as molasses. So, what I am wondering is: is this the right computer? I do not know much/anything about the IIsi... would it do? I am worried about its lack of NuBus slots for this...
