There have been a number of questions lately of the form "I don't have
enough access to manuals, please tell me X" where X is something well
documented. It's not reasonable to expect this mailing list to serve as
a manual-set; it's just too hard to type in everything you should read.
I don't mind answering naive questions or pointing people to the right
manual, etc., but you will be much better served by getting yourself a
manual. Just because you don't have access to your site's manual set
doesn't mean you cannot buy your own manuals as you need them. It
doesn't mean you have to buy the entire 12 binder set, either.
Individual manuals (the parts that come several to a binder) are readily
available from DEC.
Obviously, if you don't have manuals, you may have problems figureing out
which manual you need.
