I have an unusual problem. I have an old MacPortAdapter from Assimilation (now out of business, so far as I know), which gives you a parallel interface when attached to a serial port. It's main purpose when it was released was to let Mac 128Ks talk with letter quality printers. Its documentation is minimal. I'd like to use a parallel printer I have (Panasonic KX-P1191). I have Freedom of Press Light, which supports this printer. All I need is hardware to hook up the parallel printer to an SE/30. I hoped that the above mentioned MacPortAdapter would work. I can't get any output though. Any suggestions? Has anyone ever used a MacPortAdapter? any other serial to parallel converter? Does anyone use Freedom of Press with a parallel printer? Help? Thanks in advance. I know this may be a tad obscure. Jonathan Simon Physics U. Wisconsin-Milwaukee
