Well, my wife and I just purchased an Apple Personal LaserWriter NT for
use in her business, and we have not noticed any of the above-mentioned
"arched" lines. In fact, the output (especially solids) is better than
the LaserWriter II series. This is due to the fact that the Pers.LW uses
a new generation of the Cannon print engine, which handles solids better.
This engine is the same one used in the HP-IIP.

As far as printing speeds goes, we haven't noticed that this printer
is any slower than the LaserWriter II NT that we were used to using.
True, the print engine will only handle 4 pgs./min. instead of the
6 pgs/min of the II NT, but who here has ever gotten any significant
printout on the II NT at its rated speed... The major time involved in
printing is the communication and processing of the document... And this
is done at the same speed as the II NT (fonts are actually faster due to
a newer version of PostScript - v 51.8)

Bottom line is - we love the printer, it's price is closer to
"reality", and the output speed and quality has really made us happy,
not to mention the second paper try...

E-Mail me if you have any questions about the Pers. LW NT...

I have a customer asking if he HAS to use the phone net connectors for the
local talk bus, when hooking up the Personal NT.. If so is there a reason
for it..
