I have a question about the new Laserwriter driver and laserprep file version 6.02 that comes on the extra disk with my new IIsi. Besides the si we have several other Macs on the Laserwriter IINT. I wanted to use/tryout the grayscale capability of the new 6.02 drivers and liked the addition of the evelope size page selection feature. So I installed on all the macs. No problem in their printing to my Laserwriter IINT. They are all able to use the new driver. The problem comes up with one of the old Mac IIs. When I am gone and my office is locked my laserwriter is off. So the person with the Mac II runs a faralon phonenet connector across the hall to a second Laserwriter IInt that during the day is hooked via its serial port to a baytech switch with MS-DOS systems. She flips the switch to appletalk from the serial line and previously has had no trouble. But last night after I had installed the Laserwriter 6.02 driver and Laserprep 6.02 she tried this and the program she was running gave her the message Application has unexpectedly quit. And after that she could not even do anything else--her Mac II locked up. She tried this a number of times and it happened everytime. My question is has anyone else used these new Laserwriter files. And if so have you used them on the IINT with shared systems like the Mac II user is doing at night with the second laserwriter? It may be coincidental and some other problem with the software she is using, but I wondered if the use of the Laserwriter with MS-DOS all day may have left it set in some kind of state that is incompatable with the new 6.02 drivers that came with my IIsi. Like I said she can use the drivers fine on the permanent localtalk network that is hooked to my own IINT but only this other IINT. So it seems something is different. Any ideas.
