I've been checking into buying an accelerator for my Mac SE. My question is this: If you put the accelerator into the SE slot, do you lose the slot or is their some kind of pass through mechanism? (Or, to paraphrase, can the accelerator and a full page monitor coexist in the same machine?) If I want an accelerator and a full page monitor, do I have to buy one of those jobbies with them on the same board? If I buy an 030 board, do I get a PDS slot? Any information would be very welcome! (anyone want to take my SE of my hands so I can buy an SE/30?) Kent Miller KMILLER@aardvark.ucs.uoknor.edu

I have a Mac SE and am thinking about an accelerator for it. But, all the accelerator literature that I have read, does not really give any details about how the accelerator really works. So, I would be interested in a short tutorial on the subject. Questions that occur are: does the accelerator use only it's local memory or is the 68000 memory also used? should there be software compatibility problems? how about full System 7.0 compatibility? If there are magazine articles that can be referenced then that would be most appreciated. Thanks. Don Klett att!arch3!dsk
