I've got a pretty bazar request for information. I am trying to find a way to use my mac as an answering machine. I have a program (I believe it is sound edit) that allows me to speak into a micrphone and saves a recording of the sound. From here I can manipulate the sound and then replay it through the regular speaker on my mac. I wonder if there is a way to use the telephone as a substitute for the microphone I usually talk into, and if so does the handset of the phone transform my voice the same way the microphone does, allowing me to wire directly to the phone line. I really don't care if a "leave a message at the beep" is given to the caller or not. I am doing this as more of a 'to see if I can get it to work' type thing. Any ideas, or (highly unlikely) past experience please either post here or e-mail to wilsonbr@buster.cps.msu.edu. Thanks in advance Brian MSU
