Has anyone tried the Practical Peripherial 9600 baud modem that's advertised by Mac Connection for $489? It does v.32 and v.42bis, does anyone know if it does MNP-5 too? KenT -- ----------------------- Kent Miller KENT@aardvark.ucs.uoknor.edu Bitnet -> KENT@uokucsvx

Nope-- V.42bis compliant modems must include MNP-4, but not necessarily MNP-5. (MNP-5 has compression, MNP-4 does not) -- Matthew T. My mistake. You are right.
The Practical Peripherals 9600SA does, however, handle MNP-5.
