I know this problem has been beaten to death here, but I must confess that I don't always pay strict attention to problems that haven't happened to me. However, I now find myself trying to use a friend's SE/30 which appears to have one of those hard drives that will on occasion refuse to start up when you turn the machine on. Sometime it's possible to get things rolling by turning it on and off a few times, but recently it's been more stubborn. What, if anything can be done to solve this problem? (short of hitting the thing upside the head) Please reply by email, as I'm sure that the rest of the readers aren't interested in seeing this discussion yet again. -- Cathy Smither Seismological Laboratory cathy@seismo.gps.caltech.edu California Institute of Technology
