Does anyone out there have a better alternative to write?
Preferably one that shows the different users typing at different

We have built an analog to MIT/ITS "send" to be used instead of write. We have
not yet put it in the form you suggest (I assume you mean like "untalk"), but
at least you don't have to sit there while the other guy thinks about his
typing. It's a pretty simple shell procedure and it leaves the messages around
in /tmp so you can see all your on-line messages just in case you have
forgotten something(ITS ^A feature).
