[comp.sys.mac.hardware] mac IIsi

I read in the latest issue of BYTE magazine that mac IIsi supply only about 15 watts to the NuBus connector (with the adapter). The author went futher by saying that many video cards including those made by RasterOps drains more than 20 watts and may cause problem due to this power drainage to the IIsi power supply.

I am planning to get a IIsi which I will populate with a full 16Meg memory (4 - 4meg SIMMs), an external 40 or 80 MB Hard drive (quantum) and a RasterOps 264 card to drive a Seiko CM1445 monitor. I am worry about the power drainage problem as mentioned in the BYTE article.

Anyone knows if for some reasons I decided to speed-up the IIsi is there a company out there selling accelerator for IIsi?

By the way the price difference between the 2/40 and 5/80 config for IIsi seems very unreasonable. This is why I decided to buy a 2/40 configuration with an additional external drive.
