I am planning to purchase an external quantum HD (105MB). I notice in the ads in macuser Hard Drive International sells it for $399. Also, what confuses me is that HDI sells 80MB quantum drive for $439 (external). How come a higher capacity drive costs less? Is there any problem with quantum 105 that I need to be aware about? Who made the original Mac IIsi internal HD (40Mb)? I notice some mac have a very noisy HD (they make beeping noise) and some don't, how come? Is Quantum drive noisy too?

Selected for it's low power consumption and small size it would appear. ______________________________________________________________________________ Richard Williams, | Department of Electronics and Computer Science, | Southampton University, | EMAIL ADDRESS: Highfield, | rdw89@ecs.soton.ac.uk Southampton. | ______________________________________________________________________________
