[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Kudos for scsi hard drive company

This is a recommendation for a place to buy large SCSI hard drives. It is
based on a sample of two; your mileage may vary.

I purchased two Miniscribe 9380S 300 meg hard drives and one Future
Domain SCSI controller from Corporate Systems Center, 730 N. Pastoria
Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 (408) 737-7312. Phone order on my VISA; I
got the drives the next day Fed-Ex. The SCSI controller and one drive
worked fine in my PC; the other drive was not compatable with the driver
code in my off-brand Unix workstation. The fine folks at CSC offered
to replace the drive with a different make of the same size, for free.
A pretty liberal interpretation of their one year waranttee.

But while I was dorking around in my workstation, I zorched a board on my
Imprimis 600 meg drive. Aargh! Extra space is nice, but I had to have a
boot drive! Calling CSC again, they offered to replace the Miniscribe with
a Maxtor 9760S for the $800 price difference. I shipped the Miniscribe down,
they shipped the larger drive back UPS Red. They ate the shipping cost back
to me.

This is probably the best mail-order hardware service I've ever gotten. I
thought I would pay them back by using up some net bandwidth for a plug.

Their current offerings are new and used internal hard drives ranging from
20 meg Conner IDEs for $169 to Hitachi 670 megs for $1695, with substantial
quantity discounts. They also sell tape drives, caching controllers, CD-ROM
drives, and other misc. Give them a call.

Keith
