[comp.sys.mac.hardware] MaxAppleZoom 1.3 and monochrome monitor

rgonzal@elbereth.rutgers.edu (Ralph Gonzalez) (03/11/91)

Hi. I've got a Mac IIcx with an old Apple 8bit video card combined
with a NEW Apple 12" monochrome display. According to the MAZ 1.3
documentation, MAZ 1.3 won't work with the high-res monochrome
monitor. However, it works fine for me!

The problem is, the new Apple 12" monochrome display seems to cause a
little "ghosting" on the screen which is annoying me (see separate
post), so I may try to exchange it for one of the OLD high-res
monochrome monitors (which have the same resolution of course).

I wonder whether MAZ 1.3 actually works with the OLD high-res mono
monitor and the documentation is wrong. Either that or it's only
working while I have a NEW mono monitor because it's not programmed to
recognize this monitor yet.

Anyone out there using MAZ 1.3 on a monochrome monitor?

I had ghosting problems with the old high-res monitors.

It may be my eyes, but I do not see any ghosting on my new Apple 12" monochrome
display.

As a side comment, at 1/3 the price of the 13" high res color monitor, I
consider the monochrome monitor to be a "best buy".
