[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Portrait Display Card: Can I upgrade to 16 bit?

bjornl@milton.u.washington.edu (Bjorn Levidow) (03/12/91)

Hi Netters,
I have an Apple Portrait Display card in my CI and I want to use
it and not the on board video for speed reasons. My problem is that I only
have a maximum bit depth of 2. Can I upgrade this? What is the maximum
bit depth of this card at maximum memory configuration? All help is
appreciated.

Bjorn,

You can get the Apple Macintosh Display Card 8*24 or 8*24 GC for full 8-bit
support or you could consider getting SuperMac's Spectrum/8 Series III or
Spectrum/8 PDQ video cards.
