Like many Mac users I am a techie . . . B->. One of my main interests is shortwave radio and associated endeavors. I run a CI with 8 meg 140 meg hd, standard inits, etc. I need to connect a 2400 modem, fax modem, RS232 control of my NRD 525 receiver and an AEA PK232 TNC to my computer. They all need to operate - independently- AND/OR -simultaneously- under multifinder. I purchased Applied engineering's Quadralink package which included a 4 slot serial interface and their quadralink software which 'theoretically' allows what they call "shadowing" a device to either _a_ printer or modem port designation. I installed it according to instructions, loaded the software (anxiously anticipating my delight af finally being able to stop plugging and unplugging serial cables) but when it all fired up it did NOT do as advertised. First, the onboard modem and printer slots ceased to function and when I tried to "shadow" my peripherals to either modem or port printer operations I was only allowed to create one device with each designation. bummer. I called AE in Texas (keep in mind I am in the middle of the Pacific on Saipan) and was told that "it should work with System 7," Riight - like I have system 7. B-{. Then I was told to get a copy of "Communications toolbox" from my apple dealer. UH-HUH. I asked, he didn't have it. So, could some kind soul please bin-hex and e-mail me any of the following: * System 7 (B-> * Apple's Communication Toolbox Software that will make the ports work. I don't mind paying for it but I need to know it will work before I sink any more money into thi project. Is what I want to do impossible bardware wise? thanks Hafa Adai from sunny Saipan Dave Hughes
