I'd especially like comments from >people who actually USE these Macs to tell me what they >like (or don't like) about their particular machine. >This will, I hope, really help me decide which Mac is >"better." Thanks. I think you should really look into the SE/30 now especially with the new price cuts. I have one, and have several friends with them. I don't know anyone that has had problems with them and I have upgraded memory and installed a hard drive with no problems at all. The si is a nice machine, and if you want a larger monitor than the SE/30, than it would be a better route. The disadvantage of the si is it does not come with a co-processor, and there is presently less third party upgrades for it--but I'm sure this will/is changing. Also of course, if portability is a concern, than the SE/30 is the way to go. -- Mark Hollingsworth - via FidoNet node 1:105/14 UUCP: ...!{uunet, reed}!glacier!busker!354!1!Mark.Hollingsworth INTERNET: Mark.Hollingsworth@f1.n354.z1.FIDONET.ORG

I don't know anyone =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Also, take a look at the 19 March 91 issue of MacWEEK. I just received my copy today and there is a very interesting article about the SE/30. The title is, "Mac SE/30 not yet out to pasture." I use an SE/30 at work and think it is great. I just wish I had a desktop 'backdrop' program for it !!!! I am tired of the usual patterns. =-= --> email: david@sherpa.UUCP =-=-=-=-=-=-= Dave Quarles =-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= St. Petersburg Junior College =-=
