[comp.sys.mac.hardware] which is better: upgrade or accelerator?

I have an SE and I would eventually like to be able to get more power out of
my box. I get a little impatient with it it sometimes. I have noticed that
there are accelerators out there which are claimed to provide significant
speed improvement for considerably less than the upgrade. Some also offer
the ability to add an FPU like a 68882, and even the ability to add a video
card.
So I havce two questions: 1) what does the standard upgrade to an SE30
offer that accelerators generally don't offer? and 2) is the restriction on
RAM in an SE due to the addressable space of 68000? If I got an accelerator
with a '30, would I likely be able to add more memory?

The accelerator I was most interested in is the Mercury from Total
Systems. If anybody has had any experience with that, I'd be interested in
hearing from the (especially since they never did send the spec and price
sheet I rerquested from them).

				Thanks.
