I am looking into buying a Mac IIci and have a question on the built-in video port. I have an NEC Multisync Plus multi-scanning 1024x768 monitor that was originally designed for the IBM. The monitor does have a digital input (standard IBM). I am wondering if I could use the built in video card of the IIci until I can afford a good 24 bit card. I understand that the built in card will not take advantage of my monitor's capabilities, but will it be decent (I am used to my Mac SE/30's screen). Will the color be supported? This would be a great help, because after buying a IIci, hard drive, ram cache and RAM, I will be quite broke. It would be nice to put off the monitor card until I can afford it. Question 2: What is a good monitor card for this monitor? I am aware of Laplis Technologies, but are there any other companies that make cards for IBM monitors? Do they support 1024x768 multiscanning? Are they any good? Thanks in advance! Dave Manning bitnet: dmanning@umaecs internet: dmanning@ecs.umass.edu
