Howdy,
I am trying to transfer an 8 bit binary file from a DEC-20 to a
VAX running VMS via mag tape. The resulting file on the VAX should be
sequential, with fixed length 512 byte records, and no record
attributes. The obvious route of writing an ANSI labeled tape with 8
bit bytes by using the copy command on the 20 did not work. The
resulting file on the VAX was sequential, with variable length records,
and carriage return as the record attribute. Does anyone know what
will work?
