[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Bernoulli or Syquest?

bhall@pbs.org (Dark Star) (03/29/91)

I am looking to add some removeable storage devices to some Macs. The most
basic part of the choice is "Bernoulli or Syquest?"

I am leaning toward the Bernoulli option because I may need to use this
solution on some MS/DOS machines as well.

Has anyone had experience with the Bernoulli drives? I am especially
interested in how well they follow the Mac "feel" since Bernoulli got its
start in MS/DOS land.

I have had a dual drive Bernoulli on my Mac for quite a while with no
problems. Other than the fact that the drive is 'noisy' when a disk is
inserted, I have had no problems whatsoever (oh yeah, I *did* have one
problem where one of the two drives refused to recognize that a disk was
inserted. Sent it back for warranty service and got it back, repaired, in
10 days!). The bottom line - I like it. Your milage may vary.....
