I've been trying to find out the speed of the 1 Mb. of RAM in my Mac IIcx. It's the RAM the Mac was sold originaly with. Two of the four 256 Kb. SIMMs have the following cryptic inscription on it: MCM514256AJ10 UIQAF8926 The other two SIMMs have the same inscription except that they have an "H" instead of the "F". Is anyone able to decipher this and tell me what the speed of these SIMMs are ? Or, could someone tell me where to get an appropriate benchmark program ? Thank you. -Pete -- In real life: Peter Arensburger, biology weenie peter@cscwam.umd.edu ..!uunet!mimsy!cscwam!peter

Look on the back of your SIMMs. There should be a - and a # there, like -8 or -10 or -12. Multiply that by 10 and there's your speed in ns. (ie a -8 is 80ns SIMMs). If yours doesnt have that, they may be 100ns because of the 'J10' you said was on the chip itself... Hope it helps... Scott
