I just wrote a requisition for some 160 meg Apple drives. We already have them and they have been bullet proof (does anyone know what mechanism is in these drives). Well, our vendor says that there is a long lead time for these drives so he offered Rodime 210 meg drives for less money (and they have some s/w included). Does anyone have an opinion on these drives? E-Mail back soonest. Thanks. -- = John DeRosa, Motorola, Inc, Cellular Infrastructure Group = = e-mail: ...uunet!motcid!derosaj, motcid!derosaj@uunet.uu.net = = Applelink: N1111 = =I do not hold by employer responsible for any information in this message =

I have one of these drives and they are BEAUTIFUL! > Well, our vendor says that there is a long lead time for these > drives so he offered Rodime 210 meg drives for less money > (and they have some s/w included). > > Does anyone have an opinion on these drives? The only advantage I could see (with buying the Apple drive) if if you are interested in service contracts. AppleCare is available for the Apple drive, but your dealer may not offer maintenance contracts on the Rodime. (If you're even interested.) Summary: I don't think you can go wrong either way.
