Since the Stylewriter costs the same as the Imagewriter, does that mean that the Imagewriter is dead? Can I run a Stylewriter on a Mac with one meg RAM and no hard disk? (Imagewriter works fine.) How about a Mac 512? (Imagewriter works fine.) Yes, we still have lots of these 512s in use... -- Gerald A. The Imagewriter isn't dead-- there are applications requiring continuous form paper and/or impact printing that the ImageWriter will be good for. I suspect the stylewriter will work fine on a Mac Plus w/1 MB (don't know if the drivers will work with a 64K ROM), though with very few fonts. -- Matthew T. Doubt it. For one thing, the Imagewriter can print limited color with a color ribbon. It's also useful for multi-part forms. Finally, it's inexpensively networkable, which neither of the two new printers are. Richard C. I hope not. Imagewriters are still useful for a few things. 1) They are color 2) impact printers are a must for anyone who needs to print on paper with carbons. Jason Garms tgoose@eng.umd.edu
