A friend of a friend has just purchased a Classic. It seems she is now going to be moving to a country that uses 240v instead of 120v. She heard from an Apple person that the power supply on the Classic is convertable by flicking a switch on the inside. I have not heard anything like this about the Classic. My friend asked if I would post a message asking for information on this. Here it is. Please reply to one of the addresses below. I will post a summary. Last week I asked about whether the Classic Power supply could be used with 240V. I recieved 2 replies and still do not have an answer. If you have any further info please mail directly to me. Richard Crispin email - psych@watserv1.uwaterloo.ca ------------------------------------------- Richard, The Classic PS is convertable to 240v by cutting JP1 (jumper 1) on the power supply. It is about 1" behind the power connector between the 2 large black capacitors (CP1 and CP13). As far as I know all classics are shipped with this type of power supply. When Apple first announced this product to us, they said that is was NOT convertable. It seems that the strategy changed after this. The classic does not have a universal supply. -- Chuq Von Rospach >=< chuq@apple.com >=< GEnie: CHUQ >=< AppleLink: CHUQ SFWA Nebula Awards Reports Editor =+= Editor, OtherRealms Book Reviewer, Amazing Stories ---@--- #include <standard/disclaimer.h> Recommended reading: GOBLIN MOON by Teresa Edgerton; BONE DANCE by Emma Bull; BLIND JUSTICE by S.N.
