[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Radius Rocket & Macintosh IIsi

granteri@pnet51.orb.mn.org (Grant Erickson) (04/06/91)

Does anyone know if the newly debuted Radius Rocket will work with the
Macintosh IIsi, I am sure it will work "hardware" wise, but I am curious to
know whether it exceeds the power recommendations. Thanks...

I called up Radius and basically what they are saying is that Rocket will not work with IIsi because of the power limitation. Otherwise, there is nothing else that will prevent them to work together.

It won't work in the IIsi for two reasons - the first is as you suspected:
the Rocket draws more power than is allowed in a Mac IIsi. The second is
simple - because the hardware is "incompatible", the software won't even
recognize a Rocket in the IIsi.

(No, I'm _not_ a "Rocket Scientist", but I work with a few of them...)
