In the April MacWorld, on page 236, there is an ad from Aurora Industries
Inc. They are advertising Quantum Internal 1" 100 Meg hard drives.
I have several questions :
1) Is a 1" drive the right size for a IIsi?
2) Does anyone own one of these 100meg Quantums? I have the 40meg that came
with my IIsi, and I am running out of room. I know Quantum is a respected
name, but these are new technology, no?
3) Has anyone delt with Aurora? $479 for 100 megs is kinda appealling...
4) Can anyone beat $479 for 100megs to fit inside a IIsi? If so, where, how
much, why?
and,
5) How {easy, hard} is it to install a hard drive in a IIsi? I have already
voided the warranty by installing 4 megs of memory, so I am comfortable
with the inside of my Macintosh. I may be a Computer Science undergrad,
but I am not a hardware hacker. That stuff is for the CSEs, EEs, and
other techies...
Okay, just a few questions. Thanks.
