I use the CD Technologies Porta Drive, and am very happy with it. What I am
wondering is if any of the users of this drive out there have used it on Macs
with system 7.0? It has its own custom Cdev driver (CD Tech Driver 1.31)
as well as several "standard?" drivers (Audio CD Access, Foreign File Access,
High Sierra File Access, ISO 9660 File Access).
As the time for system 7.0 draws near I am contemplating puting it on the
system I run with the CD ROM drive and the above drivers. The system is
a BBS and the CD ROM is essential to the system. So if this setup works
with System 7.0 I would like to know before I go that path. I have some
reasons for wanting 7.0 on the BBS system, but they are secondary if the
CD ROM will not work. Has anyone tried this drive and drivers with 7.0?
Please send email if possible, but a post is ok also.

The CD Tech PortaDrive with IIci running System 7.0b4 then 7.0FC1 has had no problem, so far, on a setup I know of. That is, including the working of the CDEV that came with the drive. I bet that it would work OK with 7.0 final (ya, it's a bet). - Nobu Toge (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) #include <Personal.h> #include <StandardDisclaimer.h>
