I apologize if this question has been discussed here before. I am currently looking to buy a mac II, but I need one that will present graphics as quickly as possible. That is, I need to be able to draw reasonably large PICTs to the screen in as few screen refreshes as possible. I am currently using only black-and-white images (although I may need shades of gray soon). I have heard that both the ci and the si are very slow in presenting graphics because they use main memory for video information rather than dedicated VRAM. Do any of the other mac IIs use dedicated VRAM? Which of the Mac IIs are designed for optimal graphics presentation, even if not using dedicated VRAM? (I can't afford an fx, so I am hoping there is another alternative.) What about the SE/30? Is it slower or faster than the mac IIs in this respect? And how does the LC compare in speed with which images are presented? Any information would be greatly appreciated. -maria ------------------------------------------------------------------------- maria i. lasaga department of psychology gilmer hall university of virginia charlottesville, virginia 22903 mil@virginia -------------------------------------------------------------------------
