[comp.sys.mac.hardware] RAM Page mode question

I gather that the IIfx uses a special kind of "page mode" RAM. Could some
kind soul explain how this method of accessing RAM differs from the way
other Macs access their RAM? (Some sort of burst access?).

Does this special page mode mean that RAMs with faster access times
(e.g. 70ns vs. the usual 80ns) will produce better performance?

Thanks in advance,
