Has anybody had any good/bad experience with the new printer by Microtek, the TrueLaser? The ads, and their technical support say that the thing can support everything: postscript, truetype, trueimage (Microsoft Windows fonts)... It comes with 35 TrueType fonts, supposedly equivalent to the Postscript fonts that come with a normal ps printer. And these fonts will work when the screen font is a ps font (like times, palantino, zapf chancery, etc...) Any bad or false information there? And in the real world, is a AMD 29000 (a "32-bit RISC processor") really "ten times faster than the 6800 found in PCL or PDL printers"? and what is a PCL or PDL printer? isn't PCL like HP's format for printing? anyways...please e-mail responses, i'll try to consolidate them into something salvagable when i have some time.... ---Darryl 6600dayl@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu
