[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Yikes - System 7 killed my Mac

tony@tui.marcam.dsir.govt.nz (Tony Cooper) (05/22/91)

I ran the System 7 installer on floppy to have a look at it. After having a
look I quitted from it. When I ejected the floppy my Mac switched itself off.
Ever since then, ejecting floppies switches off the Mac. I hate it when that
happens.

It is a consistent problem now. And it still happens even when I run A/UX
and eject from there. The switch off occurs partway through the eject so
that the eject stops leaving the floppy flush with the slot. Upon powerup
the eject finishes.

It never happened before I ran the installer, now it always happens. Any
ideas? I don't have any available drives that I can use to replace my drive
with for testing.

System: 6.0.5, Mac II, FDHD ROM upgrade with SWIM chip, HD drive (not FDHD),
20MB RAM.
