[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Toshiba CD-ROM problem solved!

stanger@otago.ac.nz (Nigel Stanger) (05/23/91)

Well, it turns out that our problem with the Toshiba CD-ROM was
nothing to do with the drive at all. In fact it was the
supposedly "standard" SCSI cable! It occurred to me yesterday to
try switching cables with a removable hard drive that we have,
and guess what? It worked like a charm! Booted up, mounted itself
on the desktop and has run fine since! Needless to say we are
going to buy a new SCSI cable :-)

BTW, why would this be? I seem to remember reading somewhere once
that Mac SCSI was slightly different from standard SCSI. Is this
true, or am I just imagining things??

Thanks to the people who replied to my earlier post.
