[comp.sys.mac.hardware] serial cards for macII's

eberard@bse.com (Edward V. Berard) (05/08/91)

Folks,

I am looking for information/recommendations for serial cards, i.e., cards
which add additional serial ports (over and above the printer and modem ports)
to a Mac II.I am keenly concerned about the compatibility of these cards with
System 7.

I am running with a Mac IIfx and 8 megs of RAM.

Thanks for any time and consideration.

hi
i am interested in communicating with four serial devices at the
same time. i understand that there are serial cards from third
parties and apple which extend the number of serial ports
available for use. what i would like to know is if i were to
use one of these cards (say apple's) would i then be able to
communicate with 4 different devices at the same time by using
4 instances of the mac's built in serial driver. any
	thoughts/suggestions/recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

please respond to the email address below. if there is
sufficient interest i will post the replies.

	thanks
