Summary: Expires: Sender: Followup-To: Distribution: Organization: Purdue University Engineering Computer Network Keywords: I have been programing PC's for the last 8 years and recently, because of a project got a good excuse to buy a MAC. Problem, is I am not familiar at all with the reliable mail order houses in the MAC world! I spoted an ad for a IIsi, 5 Mb ram, 105 Quantum HD, super drive and standard keyboard for $3215. The seller is called "Mac Source". I also need to buy the co-processor expansion for it. Could some of you be kind enough to mail me any experiences you had with this company or refer me to others. If this is a FAQ, please forgive me but I had never read the MAC groups.. Pointers to the FAQ archives would also be very appreciated. Either E-mail or postings to this group will be ok. I am becoming a regular reader from now on ;-) Thanks a bunch J.E.T Thomaz@cn.ecn.purdue.edu

Congratulations! & Welcome to the Mac world! (I went from PC to Mac like you a few years ago, myself...) I never had any dealings with Mac Source, but Mac Connection seems to be by far the best ever mail order company, judging from the recent mail order horror/hero stories thread. I personaly have only had good experi- ences with them (other than the time it was my fault exercising poor judgement buying something I didn't really need after staying up too late too long too many days in a row 8-) They are the Mac branch of PC connection. -- Ian Chai Internet: chai@cs.ukans.edu Bitnet: 2fntnougat@ukanvax I don't believe in flaming. If I appear to be flaming, either (a) it's an illusion due to the lack of nonverbal cues or (b) my sprinkler system has suffered a momentary glitch, so just ignore me until it's fixed.
