As I plan on buying an LC soon (whenever they start shipping with 7.0 and docs!) I'd like to hear from ACTUAL PEOPLE (tm) who have an LC and are using a VGA (cheap!) monitor. Specific questions: Do you need a VGA (640x480) or SVGA (1024x768)? Can you actually use the 1024x768 resolution of an SVGA? Perhaps a better question is: Is it somehow logically or physically impossible for my friend who is "good with computers" to write a driver that would use the extra resolution? Are brand x vga monitors good enough, or is it worth paying the extra $$ to save my eyes and get a nice VGA monitor? Or worth it to go for an SVGA? Where do you get the cables?
