[comp.sys.mac.hardware] Help: Caturing MAC screen images to videotape

kp0s+@andrew.cmu.edu (Kartika Putra Prihadi) (06/06/91)

I need help in transferring MAc images to videotape. I am told that I could
do this with a RGB to NTSC converter. I would appreciate it if someone
could give more information on an inexpensive way to do this.

You can get an NTSC converter and feed the output of the Mac directly to
a VCR. They're not too expensive. The way I do it is to simply print
the screem image to the Laserprinter (or an Imagewriter with a color ribbon
if necessary) and then tape the paper to a board and shoot it with my
camcorder.

Don't try using a camcorder to simply tape from the monitor. We all know
how that looks. My way is super stable and I can to overlays by printing
to transparencies and taping them to the board so that I simply flip them
in place over the bottom page. I call this the "Strong Arm" method.
