[comp.sys.mac.hardware] High speed modem cables

dereky@uhunix1.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu (Derek Young) (06/07/91)

I just aquired a 9600baud v42bis modem. according to the docs,
the cable required for the IBM needs hardware handshaking. If
I want to hook it up to my Mac, do i need a special cable to do
it? or is hardware handshaking built into the standard modem
cable?

You have to get a HW handshaking cable. MacConnection sells them. Their
phone number is 800-334-4444. BTW, they have great service!
