I've cross-posted this to the two groups since I wasn't sure which group would be more appropriate (or more knowledgeable ;). Hardware: Mac SE, 4Mb; HP-48sx, ROM rev D. Software: MacKermit 0.98(63); System 6.0.7 and 7.0 The problem is with the printer port. (The modem port is fine.) I want to get an idea whether this may be a hardware problem. The problem happens when I put my HP-48sx into server mode and attempt an operation like a remote-dir or a get. I get a "Bad input clear - 28" dialogue box after every packet. After I acknowledge the dialogue, the transfer continues. However, if I put MacKermit into server mode and do a SEND (or a KGET) from my 48sx, everything's okay. Downloading from my UNIX account via the modem with MacKermit gives me the same problem. However, Zterm (with Zmodem or Ymodem) downloads from BBS works fine. I've tried booting with all inits off and I've blasted my PRAM at least twice to no avail. I've also tried the spconfig_reset program (from matthew kaufman, <matthew@ucscb.ucsc.edu>, to the best of knowledge) to reset the config byte. All to no avail. Another thing is that I've used my printer port with MacKermit before. Not with my HP (since I just got my Mac cable recently) but definitely with the modem. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? Or at the very least, what does the "Bad input clear - 28" mean? The doc's I got with MacKermit doesn't go into any error messages. I know that there are differences between the printer and the modem port but this can't be one of them...) I'd prefer replies by e-mail as that would be easier to follow. I'll summarized if I manage to get enough of a story together. George Chow
