I'm thinking seriously about upgrading my IIcx to a IIci. I'm wondering about little things like a hole in the case for the IIci video port. I asked the local dealer/repair folks about whether the case has to be replaced as part of the upgrade, but their reply was less than enlightening: "There is no way to upgrade a IIcx to a IIci." So, can someone fill me in on just what goes on during such an "impossible" upgrade? I'd really hate to lose the decals on my IIcx case... -- --------- Richard Johnson johnsonr@spot.colorado.edu

Time to get a new dealer. Apple has had a IIcx to IIci upgrade for quite some time now, in fact they just lowered the price by quite a bit. Also MacWeek says there will be a Apple 68040 upgrade for the cx and ci. Sorry I don't know the details of the upgrade but rest assured there is and always has been one.
