[comp.sys.mac.hardware] How to chain internal SCSI drives?

barner@ee.udel.edu (Ken Barner) (06/18/91)

I am sorry if this is a FAQ but I need some assistance. I was
under the impression that it was possible to put two internal
hard drives in a Mac II. I have a 40M Quantum drive that came
with the machine and a new 105M Quantum internal drive, both of
which I'd like to keep internally. Unfortunately, neither
drive has a SCSI output. So how can I chain the two
drives? Can I just split the cable? If so
how should each drive be terminated? Can the power supply handle
two drives and will the temperature inside the case get to high?
Someone told me I'd have to run a custom cable to the external
port. If this is true where do I get, or how do I make such a
cable?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I still have
time to send the drive back if necessary, but the time is running
short.

Thanks in advance,

        Ken Barner
