I'm confused about Truetype fonts. Can the Stylewriter still use other types of fonts, like Adobe, or does it HAVE to use Truetype fonts? -- Jason J. It does not have Type 1 rendering info built in (but, of course, it doesn't have TrueType built in either-- that's in the system software) -- Matthew T. This means that all imaging must be done by the Mac, which then just tells the StyleWriter which bits to turn black. The StyleWriter will therefore work with bitmap (screen) fonts, though these are likely to look ugly at high resolution; TrueType fonts, which the Mac will scale to the appropriate size and which should therefore look good; and Adobe fonts if you use Adobe Type Manager (ATM), which should also look good. All these types of fonts co-exist nicely; you can mix them on the same Mac without trouble. ========================================================================== Rick Holzgrafe | {sun, voder, nsc, mtxinu, dual}!apple!rmh Software Engineer | AppleLink HOLZGRAFE1 rmh@apple.com Apple Computer, Inc. | "All opinions expressed are mine, and do 20525 Mariani Ave. MS: 3-PK | not necessarily represent those of my Cupertino, CA 95014 | employer, Apple Computer Inc."
