I've got a CD-ROM attached to my SparcStation, and I'd like to see what it would take to use the CD with my Mac. I'd imagine I'd need a driver of some sort, but I don't know the specifics. Any help? Ken

I am very slowly (cos I have no experience with MacTCP) writing a MacTCP version. It will be ready in, say, six months to a year. Not much use to you at the moment but I thought I'd send this reply because I like people sending me MacTCP sample source code. I still haven't got exactly what I want yet but enough to work on. MacTCP programming seems a lot more difficult than Unix network programming. My program will be freeware. Cheers, Tony Cooper sramtrc@albert.dsir.govt.nz

Please stop sending me mail about my "SUN Cd-ROM to a Mac" software. I don't have the disk space for all the mail. When the program is written I will submit it to sumex. Only then will I send individual copies to people who may not be able to access it. And I'm talking about a long time in the future too. This is an optional project that I may or may not complete. But there definitely will be an A/UX version because I need it for myself. And that version will be released soon (it has been working since January) and announced in comp.unix.aux. It will be posted to an A/UX site, not sumex. If anyone wants to write the MacTCP part for me they are welcome to get in touch with me. There will be no remuneration. The software will be free. Cheers, Tony Cooper
