[comp.sys.mac.hardware] NEC monitors and Fujitsu hard drives

srbst8@unix.cis.pitt.edu (Scott R Ball) (06/23/91)

Hi,
I am currently in the process of buying a IIci and was thinking
	about monitors and hard drives.

First, does anyone know anything about NEC's multisync HC? Is
it a comparable monitor to apple's or other vendors? Will it be
able to be directly plugged into the IIci's video port?

Second, does anyone know anything about Fujitsu hard drives?
Why are they so much cheaper than same size drives from other
companies? I saw an 185mb internal half height drive advertised
for $600. Are these drives reliable? More or less are they any
	good?

	Thanks in advance,
	Scott

That's not cheap these days. Quantum 105s (the half-heights, not the
third-heights) are available from APS (a highly regarded mail order
vendor) for under $400 (internal). They're also advertising a 340Mb
Maxtor for $1100 (3 1/2, half-height, internal). The HD market has
been constantly on the move--downward--for six months or so.
