I hope to buy an 8-bit color monitor for my IIcx in the next few days. I have a fairly limited budget (around $2000), and would like to tap the collective wisdom. So far I have turned up: - Relax Technology 19" trinitron. This was reviewed a year ago in MacUser, who complained bitterly about screen flicker with a 60hz refresh rate. They will sell this one Very Cheap, consequently. ($999!) Does anyone have experience with this one? What do you think of the flicker? - Ikegami 19" trinitron. Available for $2500 +- a few hundred from various dealers. - Various 16" monitors, for example E-Machines. Principle question: given the same dots per inch, do people find 19" that much more desirable than 16"? All opinions welcome! Chuck Smythe

Chuck, We purchased an Ikegami CT20 monitor awhile back. It has been nothing but trouble. The monitor went back to the manufacturer twice before we could get it to work. We first recieved it in January. It wasn't until last month that it finally came back in working order. It still has a terrible picture. If I had it to do over again I would go ahead and spend the money on a namebrand. Jeffrey Flamm flamm@shab00.larc.nasa.gov
