I'm getting a little sick of peering at my SE/30's 9" screen through a microscope, and am thinking of adding a second screen. Colour would be nice, but not worth paying for for my purposes. There's an Apple 12" mono monitor for $\pounds$not-too-much, but I see no mention of the appropriate video card. Can one of these be put on an SE/30? (Aside: why is there an Apple 12" mono monitor anyway? Is there a B&W option for some of the new machines?) Is the monitor any good? (I'd want the same screen resolution and quality as the 9" internal.) I've seen ads for Mirror and Xerox FPD's, incl. video card, for around the 500 quid mark. This is half the price of the Radius FPD, so I'm wondering if they're comparable in quality. Any comments? Oh, yes: how much software out there is clever enough to *not* draw its windows in mid-air when I carry the SE/30 somewhere without the second screen and refer to some old documents/preferences? I'm wondering if there is a color video board for the SE/30 (at least 8 bit) with an accelerator built-in. Since there's only one slot in an SE/30, I need a combo. I'd like color, but I don't want to sacrifice any performance... --
